Of the 5 elements, Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, Vata types are made mostly of ether and air. This means that Vata types will experience imbalances where these elements are present in the body.
Vata types are creative, but have thousands of creative ideas all at once so they can’t commit. Just like their busy minds, their bodies like to be on the go which can show up as twitches or excessive fidgeting.
Vata types are inconsistent and variable which can lead to digestive troubles, such as constipation.
You can often find a Vata day-dreaming or creating something beautiful, like art or music.
Do you feel scattered, like leaves blown about on a windy day? Unorganized, forgetting where you put things or if you did something? Maybe you suffer from anxiety, fear, racing thoughts that flood your mind throughout the day and keep you up at night. Perhaps you notice that your skin could always use more moisture, your hair tends to be dry and frizzy, and your nails are brittle with ridges. These are all signs of a Vata imbalance, all of which are common to Vata types.

Hi, I'm Katelyn! I am an Ayurvedic Wellness Consultant, Integrative Nutritionist, and Yoga Instructor. I am trained to look at everything from an elemental perspective. I will educate you on the self-healing practices of Ayurveda and show you how to eat right and move right for your specific mind-body type.
Ayurveda is a healing science, translating to “wisdom of life”, and an integrative approach to health that takes into account not just your physical body but also your mind and soul.
Dosha is an expression of the elements. You have all 3 Doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha but one is typically dominant and causes imbalances.
